Job Position Description:
We're looking for a full-time IT Manager. The ideal candidate will have at least an associate degree in a related field (or a combination of equivalent experience and education), as well as supervisory and project management experience. Familiarity with different operating systems, cloud platforms, and cybersecurity platforms is required. The hiring range is $65,759.60–$73,400 a year, depending on qualifications.
Abbreviated Duties List:
- IT Staff Management & Leadership:
- Hire, supervise, and evaluate IT staff. Provide ongoing training, guidance, and professional development to ensure staff members are equipped to handle emerging technologies and best practices.
- Daily IT Operations & Network Management:
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the IT department, ensuring all systems (including LAN and cloud) are operating effectively and securely.
- Manage and monitor network infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, and VPNs, to ensure optimal performance and security.
- Endpoint Management & Security:
- Develop and implement endpoint management strategies to ensure the security and integrity of all user devices (PCs, mobile devices, etc.).
- Oversee the deployment of antivirus, endpoint detection and response (EDR), and other endpoint protection solutions to safeguard against cyber threats.
- Manage mobile device management (MDM) systems for secure access to corporate data and applications.
- Backup & Storage Management:
- Oversee the backup process, ensuring all critical systems are backed up regularly and securely, and conduct regular testing of backup integrity.
- Manage and optimize data storage solutions, including on-premises and cloud storage platforms, to support scalability and efficient access to information.
- Cybersecurity Strategy & Risk Management:
- Implement and enforce security protocols for network access, user authentication, and data encryption to mitigate security risks.
- Manage security monitoring tools, including intrusion detection systems (IDS), firewalls, and endpoint protection systems, to detect and respond to threats.
- Conduct regular vulnerability assessments and ensure the organization is compliant with relevant data privacy laws and industry regulations.
- Project Management & Vendor Coordination:
- Lead the planning and execution of IT projects, ensuring that they are completed on time, within scope, and within budget.
- Collaborate with external vendors and contractors to optimize technology implementation and ensure that contracted projects meet the Agency's needs.
- Cloud Infrastructure & Systems Administration:
- Manage cloud-based infrastructure, including IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS solutions, to ensure their scalability, security, and performance.
- Administer cloud storage, virtual machines, and databases, ensuring they are properly configured and maintained.
- Oversee user and access management in cloud environments (e.g., Azure, AWS), ensuring proper governance and compliance.
- Data Privacy & Compliance:
- Oversee the implementation of data protection and privacy measures in line with regulatory requirements (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA).
- Develop and maintain policies for data access control, encryption, and secure data disposal to ensure compliance with relevant data privacy standards.
- User Training and Support:
- Provide technical assistance and support to users, resolving complex technical issues with a customer-service-oriented approach.
- Safety & Ethics Compliance:
- Ensure adherence to all safety protocols, ethical standards, and workplace behavior expectations.
- Technology Strategy & Innovation:
- Contribute to the development of the Agency's technology roadmap, ensuring that IT investments align with the organization's strategic goals.
- Stay informed about emerging technologies and evaluate their potential to improve business operations, security, and efficiency.
- Strategic IT Planning & Budgeting:
- Develop and manage the IT department's budget, ensuring that resources are allocated efficiently to support business priorities.
Abbreviated Requirements:
- A combination of education and/or experience equivalent to an Associate Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Demonstrated experience in supervising IT staff, managing IT projects, and administering network systems.
- In-depth knowledge of modern operating systems (Windows Server and Desktop, Linux, macOS), cloud platforms (Azure, AWS), and virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V).
- Experience with endpoint security, firewall management, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and overall network security best practices.
Required Licensing or Other Special Certifications:
- Requires a valid Oregon driver's license, proof of auto insurance for private vehicle and access to reliable transportation.
